About Us

Ellllo Peeps,

We are Selvin Dsouza and John Peter Fernandes. We have been married since Dec 2016, but have been traveling together since 2014. Selvin is from Mangalore and John is from Pune, India. We met while working at the same IT company back in 2014. After we got married we had the chance to move to Costa Rica, and that is where Amche Payn really began: chasing waterfalls, volcanoes and bioluminescent bays, and writing it all down for anyone who asked.

Why this blog? Well, we finally had some time to start writing down what we do 😁. So many people reached out to us looking for information about the place we were living in. All they wanted was simple and accurate information, so we started taking more pictures and videos, and putting it all here for the world to read.

In February 2020 we made the big move to Sydney, Australia, and in 2023 we became proud Australian citizens. We swapped rainforests for coastal walks, and now explore this corner of the world one road trip at a time. Somewhere along the way we also became a Dog Family. 🐾

Say hello to Coco, our Border Collie and the self-appointed best boy of the house. He’s our muddy-pawed, zoomie-powered travel buddy, and you’ll be seeing a lot more of him in our stories.
